Software/Hardware/Electrical Engineering!

What I'm Learning and Doing.

Learning is at the core of my drive, I seek every opportunity I can to increase my understanding and insight about the topics that interest me. Here are some of my current projects and current learning areas:

Electrical/Computer Engineering Undergraduate Research

I am currently doing electrical/computer engineering undergraduate research with Dr. Abu Asaduzzaman Ph.D. in the topic of Hetereogeneous computer architecture in embedded systems.

Fire Rover: Programming and Documentation Lead

I am increasing my knowledge on robotics programming and Arduino through being the Programming Lead in my Senior Design Project, Fire Rover. This project consists of creating an Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) used to lay heavy hose in long-distance, rugged terrain with obstacles. Its objective will be to reduce firefighter injury and fatigue during the weeks after wildfires are extinguished. A main goal is to make the vehicle autonomous which will be my task to accomplish.

Mesocast.net Team Member

Furthermore, working in the Development Team of Mesocast.net, I am working alongside skilled software engineers that will help improve my software skills including my front-end development, back-end development, and machine learning skills.

Increasing knowledge through University

Lastly, I am gaining a lot of valuable knowledge throughout my final year of university. I have learned the Functional Paradigm using F# and will continue on learning the Logical Paradigm using Prolog. I have improved my Assembly language programming and learned how to apply it when programming microprocessors. I am also learning C and am applying it in programming microprocessors. I will polish all of my attained skills so far to become a better engineer and apply them on the job.

Other Skills being Developed:

  • Web Development
    • React
    • Typescript
    • Next.js
    • Tailwind CSS
  • Meteorology
  • Battery and Motor Power Management

Skills I want to develop in the near future:

  • Python
  • Data Analysis
  • Machine Learning and Neural Networks
  • Cloud Services
  • Further Mathematics
  • Further Physics
  • Additional Circuit Design Projects
  • Climate Sustainability

Fields that I would like to learn more about :

Other than the various engineering disciplines that intrigue me—computer, hardware, software, and electrical—there are other fields I would like to learn more about, work in, and contribute to. Below are the fields in which I wish to work in or explore further in the future as well more specific topics and questions that engross me.

Astronomy

These are questions I would like to explore:

  • What happened before the Big Bang?
  • How are solar systems formed?
  • How are planets formed?
  • How rare is our Solar System when it comes to suitability for life?
  • What are the factors that affect suitability for life?
  • Are we alone? If not, where is everybody?
  • Can humanity achieve a Kardashev level 1?
  • How can we efficiently research outside solar systems and exoplanets?
  • How can we efficiently search for possible alien communication?

My game plan:

  • Learn data science while advancing my knowledge on physics and mathematics to model the universe, solar systems, and planet formation to learn more about our universe's evolution.
  • Use machine learning to help advance our understanding of physics to be able to better map the universe's evolution and behavior.
  • Use data science to analyze collected data from interstellar space to learn about solar systems, exoplanets, and find possible habitable planets.
  • Use data science and machine learning to more efficiently analyze potential messages being received from space.

Neuroscience

These are questions I would like to explore:

  • How can I apply neuroscience outside of the medical field and more related towards technology?
  • How special is the human brain?
  • How can neuroscience help us understand consciousness?
  • How can neuroscience help differentiate ourselves from other animals?
  • What can we learn from comparing human neuroscience and machine neural networks?

My game plan:

  • Learn machine learning, neural networks, and neuroscience to research the similarities and differences of human evolution to the evolution of human technology.
  • Create artificial intelligence that is safe for humanity to use, with the goal of using AI to benefit society.
  • Better understand the universe as we learn more about our consciousness.

Climate Sustainability

These are questions I would like to explore:

  • What can we do better to take care of Earth?
  • How can we improve the efficiency of renewable energy to lower emissions?
  • What newly introduced technologies can actually help solve or help suppress the climate crisis?

My game plan:

  • Learn about efficient energy practices and methods through the knowledge I gain in electrical engineering.
  • Use my computer engineering expertise to invent or improve products or methods in terms of sustainability.
  • Advocate for corporations to implement green solutions in their engineering and manufacturing practices.
